Freedom, Fireworks, and the Power of the Vote: A 4th of July to Remember in Hopkins County
As fireworks light up the Texas sky this 4th of July, the Bright Start Republican Women’s Club is once again bringing more than just sparkle to the square—they’re bringing the spark of civic pride.
Hosted during the Hopkins County Fireworks Show on the Square, right in front of the iconic courthouse, this year’s Voter Registration & Outreach Booth is shaping up to be a vibrant hub of red, white, and blue energy. Sponsored in partnership with the Hopkins County Republican Party, this event celebrates the independence our nation fought for—and the freedom we continue to shape with every vote cast.
✨ Looking Back: A Night to Remember
As the sun dipped behind the Hopkins County Courthouse and the first fireworks lit up the Texas sky, something even more powerful than pyrotechnics was happening on the square: democratic process in action.
Last year’s 4th of July celebration wasn’t just about independence—it became a true expression of civic engagement, led by the Bright Start Republican Women’s Club, proudly hosting the voter registration booth for the Hopkins County GOP. Beneath a canopy of red, white, and blue balloons emblazoned with “Vote Republican,” volunteers welcomed families with warm smiles, glowing bracelets, and stick-on patriotic tattoos for the kids.
> “We registered new voters, updated addresses, and answered questions about where to vote and how to get involved,” said Beth Wisenbaker. “People were genuinely curious—some didn’t even know they could help during elections beyond casting a ballot.”
That booth became more than a station—it was a hub of connection and conversation. Parents asked how to get their teens involved. Veterans shared why voting still matters. First-time voters walked away with a sense of pride—and a light-up necklace to match.
And the response? Overwhelmingly positive. “People loved the booth,” one organizer shared. “It wasn’t just about paperwork—it was about purpose, pride, and patriotism.”

This year, we’re bringing that spirit back with patriotic face stickers, glowing necklaces, and light-up accessories that shine with freedom.
🎉 Family Fun
Free light-up bracelets, necklaces, and temporary tattoos for kids will be handed out while supplies last—because celebrating liberty should bring joy to every age.
📣 Why It Matters
The Bright Start Republican Women’s Club doesn’t just show up—they show what’s possible when neighbors come together for a cause. In previous years, they’ve:
Registered dozens of new voters
Updated dozens of voter records
Inspired everyday citizens to get involved in the democratic process
In an election year, events like this are more than symbolic—they’re strategic. According to VoteTexas.gov, Texans must be registered 30 days before an election. That makes every conversation on the square a chance to help someone make their voice count.
So this July 4th, come for the fireworks—but stay for the freedom, the fellowship, and the future you’re helping build. With the 2025 elections quickly approaching, this is your moment to engage, empower, and ignite a wave of civic pride—right here in the heart of Hopkins County.
Come for the fireworks—stay for the freedom.
Those who deny freedom to others deserve it not for themselves.
