SULPHUR SPRINGS, Texas — The Hopkins County Republican Party marked an important milestone on July 27 as members of the County Executive Committee gathered to officially begin their new term of service. During the ceremony, Hopkins County Judge Robert Newsom administered the oath of office to the newly elected County Chairman and Precinct Chairs, affirming their commitment to faithfully serve the Republican Party and the citizens of Hopkins County.
The swearing-in ceremony recognized the dedication of local Republican leaders who have accepted the responsibility of representing their precincts, strengthening grassroots engagement, and advancing the principles of limited government, individual liberty, fiscal responsibility, and constitutional values throughout Hopkins County.
Those sworn into office included:
County Chairman: Donnie Wisenbaker
Precinct 1: Jim Thompson
Precinct 2A: Karon Weatherman
Precinct 3: Brian Watson
Precinct 3A: Dr. John Allen
Precinct 4: Debbie Harris
Precinct 11: Jeff Skym
Precinct 16: Daniel Bobay
Several elected Precinct Chairs were unable to attend the ceremony and will be sworn in separately:

Precinct 4A: Dr. Daniel Ewing
Precinct 24: Micah Johnson
Precinct 36: Melonie Findley
The County Executive Committee serves as the governing body of the Hopkins County Republican Party, working throughout the election cycle to support Republican candidates, encourage voter engagement, organize precinct-level activities, and strengthen the Party’s presence within the community. Precinct Chairs play a vital role in connecting with voters, recruiting volunteers, and ensuring every precinct has strong grassroots representation.
